If I Could Play Bluegrass Music
About this song
This song was inspired by the great country music singer and radio DJ from the 1940's 50's & 60's, Jimmy Skinner . Jimmy Skinner was a honkey-tonk singer that ruled the jukebox many years ago. In his later days, he was a DJ at WCKY in Cincinnati, Ohio. At WCKY, Jimmy promoted Bluegrass music by offering special Bluegrass collections by the likes of the Stanley Brothers, Grandpa Jones, String Bean, The Lonesome Pine Fiddlers, etc. In this manner, Jimmy Skinner introduced Country music to many city listeners on the east coast of the United States thanks to WCKY's powerful 50,000 watt clear channel signal at 1530 on the AM dial.
I'm just a poor country boy
With an Electric Guitar
I Sing on the Radio
And have a Cadillac Car
But if I could play Bluegrass Music
Then I could really go far...
Friends,
If you love Bluegrass Music
If you want to help Country Music grow bigger
Then you'll want to start your own Bluegrass Band
Only such instruments as the Mandolin, Guitar, Banjo and Fiddle are used
No electrified instruments!
I'm just a poor country boy
With an Acoustic Guitar
I Sing on the Opry now
And have a Mercedes Benz Car
Because with Bluegrass Music
We can really go far...

Cool tune, title drew me right in.
I really like your spoken style. But I have an electric mandolin hehe. When I plug it in everyone says "Dude you sound like REM" no matter what I'm playin'. The harmonica's cool in this.

I remember being dragged along to a Bluegrass weekender in a field in Stratford on Avon a few years back. And got to see the Alleged fastest Banjo Player
Great tune man
